Motor Control Centers
Motor control centers contain control components used to manage and protect the electric motors and panels in the system. An MCC is composed of three sections: the vertical bus, the horizontal bus, and the control section. It is an assembly of multiple enclosed cubicles or buckets within the larger vertical structure. The control section can include: circuit breakers, starters/soft starters, overload relays, VFD’s, and other components.
Centralized Control for Industrial Motor Systems
An MCC is an assembly of enclosed compartments or “buckets” that house motor control and protection devices within a single, vertical structure. This consolidated design allows multiple motor circuits to be controlled, monitored, and maintained from one central location, saving both time and resources.
By combining motor starters, circuit breakers, overload protection, and variable frequency drives into a unified system, an MCC delivers the reliability and efficiency that today’s industrial environments demand.

The installation of a motor control center saves time, resources, and money. With the products being located in one location, they are easier to troubleshoot, manage, and maintain.
At MCXP Solutions we have an enormous inventory of new and legacy products. This gives us the capability to accommodate any MCC needs you may have. Whether the project requires a replacement bucket to a new structure or a replacement bucket to an obsolete structure, MCXP is prepared to add value to all motor control demands.
Understanding the Structure of an MCC
Each MCC is composed of three primary sections that work together to distribute and control electrical power safely:
Vertical Bus: The vertical bus carries current between the compartments, distributing power to each individual motor bucket. Its design ensures safe, isolated power transfer throughout the lineup.
Horizontal Bus: The horizontal bus provides main power distribution to the entire MCC structure. It acts as the backbone, supplying energy to all vertical sections and maintaining fault protection across the assembly.
Control Section: This is where each motor circuit’s components are housed and controlled. Depending on the application, the control section may include circuit breakers, contactors, soft starters, overload relays, or VFDs. These elements protect motors, regulate startup sequences, and improve system performance and longevity.
This modular structure makes MCCs highly adaptable and easy to service — each “bucket” can be removed, replaced, or upgraded individually without disturbing other circuits.

Supporting Both New and Legacy Systems
Many industrial sites still operate with older MCC systems that remain structurally sound but require modernization to improve performance and safety. MCXP specializes in helping customers extend the life of legacy MCCs through replacement buckets, retrofitted sections, and upgraded control packages.
We work with major brands and discontinued product lines, ensuring that even hard-to-find components can be replaced or adapted to fit your existing structure. This capability saves customers both time and cost by eliminating the need for complete system overhauls.
Comprehensive MCC Capabilities at MCXP Solutions
At MCXP Solutions, we maintain a large inventory of both new and legacy MCC products, enabling us to support a wide range of customer needs — from small upgrades to complete system replacements.
Whether your project requires a simple component swap or a full motor control lineup, MCXP has the resources, knowledge, and inventory to deliver results.
